No Smoking Day Charity Launches

As a survey shows one in 10 smokers are "desperate" to resign, was released an application that transforms virtually cigarette packs.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is committed to hijack cigarette packs from today - A day without snuff - by virtually turning them into the hands of smokers on items that could afford if they quit smoking.

The charity is encouraging smokers to "swap cigarettes swag" thinking about how much money you could save if they quit.A person who smokes 20 cigarettes a day could save £ 7 per day, £ 49 per week, £ 210 a month and £ 2,555 a year if they quit, the BHF said.

The organization has developed a new smartphone app, Blippar, which transforms almost a pack of cigarettes in a cloud of smoke, before revealing the elements that could afford a week, month or year, it's worth saving up smoking.Betty McBride, director of policy and communications at the BHF, said: "The giants of snuff are very protective of their cigarette packaging spot - here's a bit of polish that does something good for once.

"We have to improve our game if we are to help people overcome their addiction to snuff by finding new ways to reach them."

The new application comes BHF 30th annual day without snuff. A survey by the campaign of 2013 found that 11% of smokers want to quit. And 82% of smokers in the UK 2,000 respondents had tried unsuccessfully to quit smoking.

Around one in five people smoke, according to the charity, and the latest data from the World Health Organization show that smoking prevalence is higher in Europe than the rest of the world.Another survey, covering 2,000 former and current smokers by Pru Health, found that the average smoker spends 11% of their income on snuff.
